But a success story always attracts imitations and today we can find many cheap versions of LED lights and signs that do not meet LED industry standards. Here are some tips for what to look for when making a new LED purchase.

Price
The price of LEDs has fallen significantly in recent years, as more investments have gone towards improving technology and more and more use them, but if you are tempted by pricing in basement prices on an LED product of any kind, watch out. Good quality LEDs should cost more than one conventional fluorescent product. They pay for themselves several times in saved electricity and maintenance costs. Cheap imitations can cost less, but they don't last that long and you lose money on the deal in the end.

Brand
There are several big names in LED lighting manufacturer technology that have a reputation to live up to produce high-quality LED products. Hold doubt with these famous names and avoid unknown marks.

Test the product
Check out the sign or light you buy to make sure it's of good quality. Some general pointers showing a good quality LED light manufacturer product, whether it's a sign or a light bulb, are as follows:


  • The light should be switched on immediately as soon as the switch is pressed.
  • It should not be flickering
  • The light, especially in LED signs, should be evenly distributed throughout the sign area, without dark shadows or bright hotspots.
  • The light effect should remain constant over time.
  • LED lights and signs are available in different colors, but the colors should always be clean and clear.
  • The LED product should not continue to consume when it is switched off.
  • Ask for warranty


Most good qualities LED products have a guarantee against defects in manufacturing and materials, which can range from one year to as much as ten years for some producers of LED light bulbs.

In the case of LED signs, the light modules themselves are usually covered by the warranty, not the entire sign. This means that the modules will be replaced if they prove to be incorrect within the time period specified in the warranty.

Make sure you buy good quality LED outdoor lights products and that you will find that you save money in energy costs several times above the original purchase price.
